Founded in 2016, LYC is a non-partisan youth platform across Lavun LGA, Niger State. We connect communities, promote peace, support youth leadership, and create pathways for skills and empowerment.

The LYC 10-Year Strategic Roadmap (2026–2036) is our long-term plan for youth leadership, empowerment, peacebuilding, education, and institutional growth across Lavun Local Government Area. It outlines key priorities, timelines, and measurable actions to guide our work over the next decade and strengthen community development through youth participation.
Milestone 1: Roadmap Launch and Public Presentation (10th Anniversary)
We officially unveil the LYC 10-Year Strategic Roadmap (2026–2036), share the pillars, timeline, and expected outcomes, and open opportunities for partners, volunteers, and stakeholders to support implementation.
Milestone 2: Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Drive
LYC begins structured engagement with the Local Government, traditional institutions, community leaders, civil society groups, and development partners to align priorities and secure collaboration for roadmap delivery.
Milestone 3: Youth Leadership and Civic Participation Program Kickoff
Implementation begins for practical skills acquisition, entrepreneurship sensitization, and partner-led capacity building. This phase focuses on employability, self-reliance, and income opportunities for youths.
Milestone 4: Skills and Economic Empowerment Rollout
We launch leadership and civic engagement activities, including town halls, youth forums, mentorship, and structured participation in governance discussions at ward and local government level.
Milestone 5: Peacebuilding and Community Unity Campaign
LYC expands conflict resolution support, peace advocacy, and community dialogue initiatives to strengthen social cohesion and reduce tensions across communities.
Milestone 6: Education and Digital Inclusion Support
Education support programs and digital inclusion initiatives begin, including learning support, mentorship, and youth-focused digital engagement to improve access to opportunities and information.
Milestone 7: Monitoring, Evaluation and Annual Progress Review
LYC publishes annual progress updates, reviews results against targets, strengthens accountability, and adjusts activities to ensure the roadmap remains realistic and impactful.
LYC 10th Anniversary Celebration (2016–2026)
Lavun Youth Congress (LYC) celebrated its 10th Anniversary at Bologi Event Center, Gbanchitako (along Doko), marking a decade of youth advocacy, leadership, and community development. The event brought together stakeholders and youths from within and beyond Lavun LGA, featuring keynote reflections on youth advocacy, award presentations, and the unveiling of major milestones for the next decade.
A key highlight was the unveiling of the official LYC website and the launch of the 10-Year Strategic Roadmap (2026–2036), reinforcing LYC’s commitment to peace, unity, good governance, and sustainable development.
